Julian is the eldest son of Tony and Janice Walker. He joined the firm in 1994, shortly before his brother Matthew, after completing a four year degree in Sheffield, a year with the Forensic Science Service and attachments with the army in the course of serving as a TA Officer over many years. He married Nicky, a partner at Pitmans Solicitors in 1998 and they now live near to Henley-on-Thames. Currently they delight in a very noisy household with three young children Georgina, Henrietta and Montgomery all of whom in the fullness of time might take up the mantle in the family firm. Julian enjoys diverse interests from skiing, running, reading, golf and field sports as well as watching rugby and football now he has retired from contact sports! He concentrates on the operations, sales and marketing within the business and is currently working with the staff managers to engage with the workforce more fully in the strategic planning for the future. |
![]() Matthew & Melissa Walker | Matthew joined the firm in 1997. Prior to this, he worked in the construction industry including running his own residential development company. He married Melissa in 1997 and together they produced the first of the 6th generation in the form of Oliver, soon joined by Charlotte. They all live in Caversham Heights near to the River Thames. Melissa also works in the firm: Matthew and Melissa are the financial hub at A.B. Walker, in addition Matt uses his building knowledge to continue to develop our four sites – currently concentrating on the Reading Headquarters buildings. Matthew has recently taken up horse riding with the children and enjoys shooting, golf (an active member at Calcot Park), running, rugby, football and cycling. Matthew and Melissa are members of St Peter’s Church, Caversham. Both concentrate on constantly reviewing and improving on our competitive pricing structure which cannot be bettered in the area. |
